Campus Crime: How many cars does it take to change a lightbulb?

Campus vandalism, stolen wheels and plastered students plagued the OUPD this week. They just came out to have a good time, and they're honestly feeling so attacked right now.

It’s not lit

All four counts of property damage this week occurred on Sept. 15. Two of these incidents were directly related to traffic incidents. At 9:37 a.m., the Ohio University Police Department took a report concerning a traffic crash. Later that day at 3:56 p.m., OUPD reported that a lamp post at the Innovation Center was damaged as a result of a traffic incident. Approximately two hours earlier, a criminal mischief report was filed over vehicle damage in Parking Lot 134. Lastly, at 10:55 a.m., a window was broken in the Convocation Center.

Punches thrown

Two assaults occurred this week. A man was charged for assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest at the Ridges on Sept. 16 at 4:29 a.m. Later that week on Sept. 19, OUPD responded to a report of an altercation between two roommates in the Living Learning Center.

Wheelin’ and dealin’

Dank crime

OUPD issued eight citations to students for the possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Half of these citations were given this past weekend; three of the remaining four were given out on Sept. 18.

Rum, bums and brawls
