Members of the Ohio University chapter of College Republicans want you to remember that yes, Pat Kelly is still in jail. With help from a donation from an unnamed College Republicans alum, members of the group bought the website ispatkellystillinjail.com to remind everyone that the former Athens County sheriff, convicted in 2015 of 18 of the 25 counts brought against him, remains in Allen Correctional Institution in Lima, Ohio. The site consists of just the word “yes” in large capital letters and a 2007 video of Ohio University’s O-Zone cheering after winning a home basketball game.As of College Republican’s Wednesday meeting, the site had almost 500 viewers and nearly 1,000 hits. The website will be held for one year, but it will be renewed for as long as Kelly remains imprisoned. According to the group’s Twitter, members are already planning to purchase shouldpatkellystillbeinjail.com upon his release. Kelly was sentenced to seven years in prison on March 20, 2015.“We always knew he was corrupt,” College Republicans President Anna Lippincott said. “Siri (Apple personal assistant) tells you Pat Kelly is in jail now.”The OU College Republicans has publicly announced its anger with Kelly for a long time, including when members stood outside the courthouse when Kelly was arraigned with signs saying how he should resign and go to jail.Nicole Rhodes contributed to this report.
