Donald Trump wins 2024 presidential election

Donald Trump has won the 2024 presidential election, according to the Associated Press.

At the time of publication including updates, Trump has 292 electoral college votes, surpassing Kamala Harris’ 224. At this time, the Associated Press has not confirmed Nevada, Arizona and Alaska. Trump is also expected to win the popular vote with 51% to Harris’ 47.5%.

However, Trump has a 4.7% lead in Nevada with 84% of votes counted, a 4.8% lead in Arizona with 61% of votes counted and a 15.2% lead in Alaska with 76% of votes counted.

Trump’s comeback win was solidified by key battleground victories in Ohio, North Carolina, Georgia, Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania.

This is now the second time in American history that a president has achieved a second term after losing their initial reelection campaign. Donald Trump and Grover Cleveland are the only presidents who have achieved this feat.
