More Greek life and a sports team under investigation by the university
Alpha Kappa Psi business fraternity, the Ohio University men’s rugby team and the Pi Kappa Phi fraternity are under investigation by the university as of this week, according to a website the university recently launched to track the status of student organizations under review for reported behavior that could be in violation of the Student Code of Conduct.
The end dates for the investigations of Alpha Kappa Psi, the men’s rugby team and Pi Kappa Phi are not listed on the website -- suggesting the organizations are indefinitely under review.
The end dates for the investigations of 12 other Greek life and student organizations suspended in recent weeks, including the Ohio U Marching 110 band, were also not listed.
It’s possible, however, for individual Fraternities or Sororities that have not been issued a cease and desist order to achieve reinstatement within the next week, said Ariel Tarosky, director of Sorority and Fraternity Life, on Wednesday at a Student Senate meeting.
Ohio U will post to the website all future updates about investigations into student organizations.
The Sorority and Fraternity Life office is hosting a town hall Thursday night in Bentley 240 at 6:30 p.m.
