PHOTOS: 13 photos from the 2019 D.C. Women's March

The 2019 Women’s March was Saturday in Washington, D.C., and the Ohio University College Democrats (OUCD) were some of the protestors who attended. Sister marches were held around the country, including one in Athens. While attendance numbers were down from the original march in 2017, organizers estimated around 100,000 people were at the D.C. march.

The pink “pussyhats” have become a staple image of the Women’s March. A woman smiles as she holds her sign.Many of the signs at the march referenced women running for office. In 2018, a record number of women were elected to federal office. After the march, some attendees moved toward the White House to protest. A man held up his sign from the march outside of the White House. Many of the signs at the march were also in protest of President Donald Trump as well as the partial government shutdown, which is the longest in history.
