Nellis announces new Vice President of University Advancement/President and CEO of the University Foundation
Nico Karagosian has previously worked at the University of Cincinnati.
[dropcap txtcolor="#234a83" style="dropcap1"]O[/dropcap]hio University President Duane Nellis announced Wednesday that Nico Karagosian had been selected as the University’s new Vice President of University Advancement and the President and CEO of the University Foundation. Karagosian beat the three other finalists for the position as CEO at the Ohio U Foundation, which is the “fund raising arm” of the University.According to his Linkedin, Karagosian worked at the University of Cincinnati as Vice President of Advancement and Executive Director since 2014. He also served as Interim Vice President of Presidential initiatives.Also in 2014, Karagosian served as Senior Director for the Hawn Foundation, a philanthropic organization whose mission statement is “to equip children with the social and emotional literacy skills needed to navigate the challenges of the contemporary world and lead smarter, healthier, and happier lives.”In a press release, Duane Nellis praised Karagosian for his work, and said that he has a “proven history of success in university philanthropy.”“What I value most from my interactions with Nico is his understanding of the culture of philanthropy and building relationships in a thoughtful and strategic way,” Nellis said In the press release, Duane Nellis also thanked the interim president and CEO of the Ohio U Foundation, Tom Davis for his service in his interim role, calling him a “valuable member of our team for many years.”Karagosian will officially begin his position at Ohio U March 19.
