Ohio U Campus Crime: Employee makes terroristic threats
While the usual crime suspects were present last week, an unusual one -- terrorism -- was reported by the Ohio University Police Department.
Sexual Assault
The Ohio University Police Department responded to a report of rape on Oct. 30 at 11:14 p.m. No further information was provided regarding the case.
Drugs
In the last ten days, OUPD gave citations to twelve individuals for the possession of marijuana and/or the possession of drug paraphernalia. The majority of drug-related citations occurred on Nov. 2, when seven individuals were cited. On Oct. 31, a man was arrested for the felonious possession of an undisclosed controlled substance in Parking Lot 132.[AdSense-A]
Alcohol
OUPD arrested all six of the people that they discovered underage drinking since Oct. 30. Three of these arrests occurred this past weekend. Additionally, two of these arrested individuals were charged with the possession of fake identification.
Theft
OUPD received six reports of theft in the last ten days. These stolen items include letters from McCracken, property from Boyd Hall on two separate occasions, keys from Ping and a parking permit in Parking Lot 86. Furthermore, OUPD received a report from Nelson Commons stating that items were purchased with counterfeit money.
Property Destruction
At Mackinnon Hall on Nov. 5, a woman reported criminal damage to her car windshield. In the Adams Hall Garage, a card reader was similarly reported as criminally damaged on Nov. 6. Lastly, OUPD received a report for a broken sign in Parking Lot 143.
Traffic
OUPD gave out five traffic citations since Oct. 30. These citations include an expired vehicle registration, a stop sign violation on Union St. on Nov. 2, an unlicensed driver on Richland Avenue at 11:59 p.m. (who also did not have their headlights on), speeding, a red light violation on Nov. 6. Additionally, one man was arrested for the mishandling of a firearm whilst operating a vehicle under the influence on Oct. 31 on Richland Avenue.
Terrorism
At 11:43 a.m., OUPD responded to a report of terroristic threat last Monday sent via text message at Nelson Dining Hall. Curtis S. Embrey was apprehended by OUPD in the Nelson parking garage shortly afterward for the threat, a third-degree felony.
