Candidates for open Ohio University vice president position begin visiting campus
Candidates for the role of vice president of student affairs will begin visiting campus Wednesday to meet with administrators and hold open forums with students and faculty.According to a story from Compass, each candidate will “have an opportunity to present to the University community during open forums in the Living Learning Center.” These presentations are open to all members of the university community.Ricardo D. Hall, associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students at the University of Miami, will be the first to visit. Hall earned both his bachelor’s degree in business administration and his master’s in higher education administration from Ohio University.“I'm looking forward to spending time on campus and interacting with students, administrators, faculty, and other stakeholders,” Hall said in an email.Other candidates will visit next month. David W. Parrot, visiting March 7, is the executive associate vice president and the chief of staff at Texas A&M University. Jason B. Pina, visiting March 9, works as the vice president for student affairs and enrollment management at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts.The search for a new vice president of student affairs has been on since May 2015, when Ryan Lombardi announced he would be leaving OU to take a position with Cornell University.Jenny Hall-Jones, who serves as both the dean of student affairs and the interim vice president of student affairs, said in an email that she is interested in what the candidates have to say.“I look forward to hearing about their vision for the division of student affairs and for students at Ohio University,” Hall-Jones said.
