Court Report: Man pleads guilty to three violent charges
An Athens man was sentenced Thursday in the Athens County Court of Common Pleas in connection to three incidents that took place in July 2013.Douglas Logsdon pleaded guilty to one count of aggravated burglary, one count of felonious assault and one count of domestic violence after accepting a plea agreement. Logsdon was sentenced to five years community control with an underlying 18-month sentence.Police took Logsdon into custody after being called to 203 Columbus Rd. for an attempted robbery in progress. Logsdon forced entry into the residence of Evelyn Mihaljevic where he assaulted two individuals and threatened another with a knife.The individual Logsdon threatened with a knife and later struck in the head was his mother, which resulted in the domestic violence charge. An additional charge of assault was added after Logsdon spat at law enforcement officers attempting to take him into custody.In another sentencing this Thursday an Athens man pleaded guilty to one count of receiving stolen property in the Athens County Court of Common Pleas.Terry Keaton was arrested in January 2013 after being found in the possession of a stolen Husqvarna Cut and Chainsaw valued over $1,000.It is unclear whether Keaton was aware that he obtained stolen property, but he accepted a plea agreement of a diversion program with a restitution of $3,969. However, Keaton will remain a full law-abiding citizen.
